What is the Soul?

The soul or Spirit-Matter is the embodied life of The Supreme. This embodied life comes into a incarnation in order to reveal the quality and the nature of The Supreme, which is essentially love. Life, taking form, nurtures the quality of love within all forms, and ultimately reveals the purpose of all Creation. This definition for humanity, in the language of mysticism, is the truth as found in all religions.

Human appearance on Earth veils both the Supreme quality and purpose in varying degree. So does that synthesis of all forms or appearances, within that which we call a solar system. It veils the quality and purpose of The Universal Energy. It is only when man is no longer deluded by appearance and has freed himself from the veils of illusion that he arrives at knowledge of the quality of Supreme consciousness and the purpose which is being revealed.

Man, having discovered the personality, discovers the quality of his own soul life, and the purpose for which he has "appeared." He finds that this quality expresses itself through seven basic different aspects. Esoterically, these seven qualities are in all forms of nature and in totality reveals the Divine purpose.

Essentially, man finds himself in the seven of all energies. Each energy produces different effects and appearances. Man discovers that his own soul is colored by one of the seven ray qualities. He identifies with his ray purpose, whatever it may be and expresses a particular type of Divine Energy.
