An
attitude towards all teaching is that of willing service, with
no thought of self. The growth in spiritual realization and the
lifting of humanity. Not your own personal growth or development,
nor your own satisfaction at receiving special and new information.
As you will grow, and your soul will take increasing hold upon its
intelligance, when your mind and effort are turned towards group
service, your speech and thoughts harmless, and you become the conduit
of the inflow of Universal Love.
It
is not important to confuse your mind with speculations as to the
identity of the teacher. Does it really matter who it is? Can you
prove his identity in one way or another? Is it of value to accept
the statements of any fellow student who claims to be informed on
the matter, be it who so ever he may be. You cannot prove him right
or wrong, and therefore it remains a waste of time. It is essential
to give fruitful service, to closer study of the life-essentials
and higher consciousnes, and to meditation.
What
is taught should matter. The aspects of truth which is heard should
be thought over, the spiritual and mental stimulation which is imparted
are the essentials.. The training of the intuition to recognize
spiritual truth should be your effort. The sole authority is the
teaching, and not the teacher. It is this confusion that has created
thoughtless rituals, religions that have suited a few, and not for
the betterment of humanity.
