the fivefold nature of shakti

the stillness of pure awareness turns into bliss,
bliss into will, will into knowledge, and finally knowledge into action.
the fivefold nature of Shakti has revealed itself completely.

Chitta.
Chitta simply is. Chitta is Divine awareness in its simplest form. When your mind is not occupied with thoughts and emotions, it rests in itself alone. Simple awareness is a divine quality, because in chitta the distractions that disguise spirit are stripped away. You perceive love as the only reality. You have always been nourished and supported; and there is no need to justify your existence. The Divine is this silence, needing nothing else.

Ananda.
Ananda is considered the first quality of the Divine. Manifesting creation out of primordial silence. Her bliss, love, and peace are the subtlest and yet the most powerful of Shakti's creative powers. Ananda gives the solution to all suffering, for instead of having to struggle against pain, any person can go within and find a level of awareness that suffering cannot reach. Ananda is the untroubled face of the Divine. When you realize this aspect of spirit in yourself, unconditional love comes naturally.

Icha.
Icha, "desire" or "intention." Will is the next level to emerge from bliss, because when you are full of joy, anything you intend or desire must be aligned with the divine. At this level there is no wrong desires or willful behavior that can harm yourself . There is nothing outside this to see, therefore anything the Divine creates is just a form of Her own bliss. Icha is outward life , giving it a loving purpose and direction.

Gyana.
Knowledge about the Divine, nothing substitutes for gyana, which is direct knowledge of
the Divine. Instead of having thoughts about God, you share Divine thoughts. Spiritual
knowledge is essential. Truth, trust, devotion, and love are inside our thoughts.
Gyana is the mind in communion with spirit.

Kriya.
Shakti is the most visible. Kriya is action inspired by Spirit. The behavior: one
who has realized God, turning from violence to peace, from conflict to serenity,
from egoism to centering, is in the realm of kriya.
