it
might seem at first, that there is no need for your Self and that of
your beloved Spirit
Self to
relate. The very fact that you can love each other in flesh and blood
has its origins in spirit. Your marriage is a play of the Divine. You
and your higher spirit, the two spirits pretend to be separate for the
sheer joy of coming together in love
Survival makes us feel that life is not a play. But in spirit you only
play. The difference between a cosmic love affair and an earthly one
is the difference between play and need. Your purpose is not to survive
but to express every grain of passion that love arouses in you.
In Vedic terms only one marriage has ever taken place. It is the union
of God as male with God as female. When these two poles meet passion flies
between them. But this passion must be playful, since the One Source knows
in reality that male and female are One. There was only one Divine purpose
in dividing into two sexes, and that was the joy of sexual union. Sexual
union imitates Divine creation.
What
you express through your passion is Creator's love for the Creator.
How
can a marriage can deepen in Spirit to justify its cosmic purpose?
Remember what it felt like to fall in love, we need not question passion.
Romantic
love doesn't raise questions of the experience, as it is all enveloping.
Passion puts two lovers in a world of their own.
Passion itself cannot be captured outside the moment. In this it is
like happiness. Anyone who
is happy has no reason to doubt what happiness is. But once it has slipped
away, even ever so slightly, asking questions about happiness won't
bring it back. Desire is even more delicate. Spontaneity vanishes, as
soon as passion gets eclipsed by niggling doubts or fears.
